IN RE:
SB717 by Nichols (Relating to the consolidation of more than one water or sewer system under a single tariff by an investor-owned utility.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow investor-owned utilities to consolidate more than one system under a single tariff, at the time of application, if the regulatory authority finds all the systems under the tariff are substantially similar in terms of facilities, quality of service, and cost of service.

The bill's passage is not expected to result in significant costs to the Commission on Environmental Quality.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
