LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 9, 2009

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1367 by Carona (Relating to parking placard or specialty license plate applications by persons with a mobility problem caused by an impairment of vision.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person who is a licensed to practice optometry or therapeutic optometry in Texas to provide the required written statement for an initial application for a specialty license plate for persons with disabilities or an initial application for a disabled parking placard made by or on behalf of a person who is legally blind.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
