TO: | Honorable John Carona, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security |
FROM: | John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB1367 by Carona (Relating to parking placard applications by persons with a mobility problem caused by an impairment of vision.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person licensed to practice optometry or therapeutic optometry in this state or a state adjacent to this state to issue the notarized written statement or written prescription required for a disabled person parking placard.
Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
