LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 12, 2009

TO:
Honorable Todd Smith, Chair, House Committee on Elections

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1402 by Hinojosa (Relating to requiring certain political subdivisions to enter a contract with the county elections administrator to perform election services.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on the applicability criteria of the bill, it would affect only a political subdivision located within Hidalgo County and that is not an irrigation district created under Section 52(b)(1) or (2), Article III, or Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
