No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the travel, board, and lodging expenses of a person appointed to assist the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. The bill would allow the State Commission on Judicial Conduct to reimburse special counsel assisting the Commission for travel and lodging as part of official duties. To the extent the bill would expand the eligibility of persons that could be reimbursed for official business, the rules change is not anticipated to increase overall travel for State Commission on Judicial Conduct business. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.
