No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to child support arrearages and a credit based on certain disability payments. The bill relates to counterclaims and offsets on certain disability payments for the benefit of a child.  To the extent the bill modifies allowable methods of payment for child support, the rules change will not change the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
