LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 6, 2009

TO:
Honorable Troy Fraser, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1699 by Fraser (Relating to consistency among certain secretary of state filings.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the filing fee for transmitting utility filings from $15 for one or two pages and $30 for three pages or more to $60.  Since the volume of transmitting utility filings is so low it is assumed that there would be no significant fiscal impact.  The bill would be effective September 1, 2009.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
