SB1735 by West (relating to the employment and commissioning of law enforcement personnel to provide security services to certain educational institutions.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend various subsections of Section 51.214 of the Education Code, as it relates to the employment and commissioning of law enforcement personnel to provide security services to certain educational institutions in municipalities with a population of 1.18 million or more. 

The bill also amends Section 51.2125 of the Education Code, relating to the eligibility of private institutions of higher education to enter into a written mutual assistance agreement with peace officers.
