No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would extend the statutory exemption from state assessments for students with limited English proficiency for up to four additional years to students initially enrolled in school in the United States as unschooled asylees or refugees.

Local Government Impact

School districts would be required to maintain documentation of asylees or refugees exempted under the provisions of the bill.
