No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the calculation of a person's net resources for purposes of determining child support liability. The bill would add payments for foster care of a child to the list of items exempted when calculating a person's net resources for determining child support liability. To the extent that the bill would alter the allowable exemptions, the rules change is not anticipated to increase the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
