FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1832 by Patrick, Dan (Relating to the eligibility for judge-ordered community supervision or for mandatory supervision of a defendant convicted of criminal solicitation of capital murder.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code to make individuals convicted of criminal solicitation of capital murder ineligible for judge-ordered community supervision or release to mandatory supervision. It is assumed that the bill would not result in a significant impact on the programs and workload of state corrections agencies or on the demand for resources and services of those agencies.
The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009 and apply to offenses committed on or after that date.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
