LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 81ST LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 13, 2009

TO:
Honorable Troy Fraser, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1982 by Patrick, Dan (Relating to the licensing and regulation of pool-related electrical maintenance technicians and pool-related electrical maintenance contractors.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 1305 of the Occupations Code to license and regulate pool-related electrical maintenance technicians and contractors. The bill would require the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to issue licenses to, and enforce rules and regulations of pool-related electrical maintenance technicians and contractors. The bill would establish eligibility requirements for the license.

TDLR indicates that there would be some cost to implement the provisions of the bill, but it is assumed that these costs could be absorbed within the agency's existing budget.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
