No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 397, Transporation Code, to authorize imposition of a civil penalty of $500 to $1,000 in addition to a criminal penalty on a person who operates an automotive wrecking and salvage yard in violation of the chapter. The bill would authorize a district attorney or a county attorney or municipal attorney, as applicable, to bring suit to collect the civil penalty. A penalty collected would be required to be deposited into the county or municipal treasury, as applicable.
