No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to statutory revision and construction of revised statutes. The bill would address how the courts interpret non-substantive statutory revisions. To the extent the bill would change court procedure, the rules change is not anticipated to significantly increase the workload of the courts. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote from both houses. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2009.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
