IN RE: | SB2224 by West (Relating to orders of nondisclosure for the records of children convicted of certain offenses punishable by fine only.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to orders of nondisclosure for the records of children convicted of certain offenses punishable by fine only. The bill would require that a court must issue an order prohibiting criminal justice agencies from disclosing to the public criminal history information related to convictions of a child for offenses punishable by fine only. The bill provides for the release of criminal history record information to specified agencies or entities, only. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. This analysis assumes that implementing the provisions of the bill would not pose a significant fiscal or operational impact to the state.
