SB2277 by Ellis (Relating to authorizing certain state agencies to provide student loan repayment assistance to attorneys.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize certain state agencies to provide student loan repayment assistance to attorneys. The bill would allow agencies that assist the legislature to receive assistance in the repayment of education loans for attorneys employed by them who apply and qualify for the assistance. The Office of the Attorney General, along with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the State Bar of Texas, may be asked to provide assistance to other state agencies in administering this bill.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.

It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementing the  provisions of the bill would be absorbed within existing resources for the affected agencies.
