IN RE:
SB2280 by Ellis (Relating to the creation of the Reentry Policy Council to review corrections policies, programs, and procedures for inmates released into the community.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would create the Reentry Policy Council.  The council would consist of 33 members.  The council would review corrections policy, programs, and procedures for inmates released into the community and submit an annual report.  The criminal justice division of the Governor’s Office would be required to reimburse members for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official council duties.  The division would also be required to provide resources to the council for data collection, research, analysis, and publication of the council’s findings and reports.  It is assumed costs associated with this bill could be absorbed within existing agency resources.  This bill would be effective immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds or on September 1, 2009.
