No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code and provide that in an action brought by the Attorney General for conduct that violates certain specified laws, the court may order restitution funds be placed in the Consumer Assistance Account and distributed by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The OAG anticipates that any additional costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
