No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $90,882.


The resolution would propose an amendment to Section 17, Article XVI of the Texas Constitution to specify that a member of the Texas Transportation Commission whose term has expired may not continue to perform the duties of a member of the commission, and a vacancy would be created in that member’s position.

 

The proposed amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2009.
