April 23, 2009

TO:
Honorable Pete Gallego, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:

IN RE:
HB718 by Riddle (Relating to the applicability of certain laws to certain sex offenders. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

The provisions of the bill that are the subject of this analysis are the provisions that authorize or require a change in the sanctions applicable to adults convicted of felony crimes.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to offenses ineligible for jury recommended community supervision.

It is assumed the number of persons affected by the provisions of this bill would not result in a significant impact on programs and workload of state corrections agencies or on the demand for resources and services of those agencies.
