FROM:

IN RE:
SB1062 by Shapiro (Relating to creating an online resource center for judges and attorneys handling child abuse and neglect cases.), As Introduced

As a result of this bill there will be a restriction upon:

(1) the open records law; and
(2) the access to government information.

The bill would amend the Family Code to create an online resource center for judges and attorneys handling child abuse and neglect cases. The online resource center would include an e-mail network, a discussion board, a document sharing system and other informational materials, as defined, for judges and attorneys to communicate regarding cases. The bill would allow the information contained in the online resource center to be excepted from disclosure under Chapter 552 of the Government Code.
