Pursuant to a notice posted on March 20, 2009, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pitts, at 8:08 a.m.

The chair laid out the subcommittee recommendations for Article VII pending items and riders.

Representative Giddings moved the adoption of the subcommittee recommendations as amended. The motion was adopted without objection.
Article VIII
The chair laid out the subcommittee recommendations for Article VII pending items and riders.

The chair pended the workgroup rider to increase the system benefit fund allocation to the low income discount program.
Representative Giddings moved the adoption of the subcommittee recommendations, except the pended item. The motion was adopted without objection.

At 8:54 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:00 p.m., March 26, 2009.
