Pursuant to a notice posted on Thursday, April 9, 2009, the House Committee on Redistricting met in a Public Hearing and was called to order by the Chairman, Representative Jones, at 4:45 p.m.

HOUSE BILL No. 104 and HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 19
The Chairman laid out House Bill No. 104 and House Joint Resolution No. 19.
The Chairman recognized Representative Strama to explain both measures.
(Representative Alvarado now present.)

(Representative Deshotel now present.)
In the absence of Representative Strama, Vice-Chairman Villarreal closed on both measures.
Without objection, House Bill No. 104 and House Joint Resolution No. 19 were left pending.
HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 53
The Chairman laid out House Joint Resolution No. 53.
The Chairman recognized Representative Homer to explain the measure.
Representative Homer closed on the measure.
Representative Hilderbran moved that House Joint Resolution No. 53, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full House of Representatives with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
Without objection, Representative Hilderbran withdrew that motion.
Representative Villarreal offered an amendment to House Joint Resolution No. 53.
Without objection, Representative Villarreal withdrew the amendment.
Again, Representative Hilderbran moved that House Joint Resolution No. 53, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full House of Representatives with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

There being no further business to come before the Redistricting Committee, on the motion of the Chairman, and without objection, the meeting, at 5:54 p.m., was adjourned subject to the call of the Chair.
