Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 1, 2009, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Smith, Todd, at 2:05 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Smith, Todd; Anchia; Bohac; Bonnen; Brown, Betty (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Pena; Allen; Harper-Brown; Heflin (4).

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 1654.

The chair explained the measure.

 

Representative Bonnen moved that HB 1654, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Smith, Todd; Anchia; Bohac; Bonnen; Brown, Betty; Harper-Brown (6).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Pena; Allen; Heflin  (3).
