Pursuant to a notice posted on November 1, 2010, the House Committee on Energy Resources met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Keffer, at 9:05 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Keffer; Crabb; Farabee; Gonzalez Toureilles; Hardcastle (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Crownover; Craddick; Rios Ybarra; Strama (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

The committee heard testimony on Interim Charge #1:  Survey current local ordinances governing surface use of property in oil and gas development.  Recommend changes, if any, to the authority of the Railroad Commission to regulate the operation of oil and gas industries in urban areas of the state, particularly the Barnett Shale.

 

At 1:45 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
