Pursuant to a notice posted on October 25, 2010, the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence, Subcommittee on Houston Redistricting, met jointly with the House Committee on Redistricting, Subcommittee on Houston Redistricting and the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting, in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Woolley, at 10:03 a.m.

 

Present:           Representatives Alonzo; Woolley; (2).

 

Absent:            Hughes (1).

 

A quorum was present.

The House Committee on Redistricting, Subcommittee on Houston Redistricting, was called to order by the chair, Representative Alvarado, at 10:03 a.m.

 

Present:           Representatives Alvarado (1).

 

Absent:            Deshotel, Harless (2).

 

Chairman Todd Hunter addressed the audience. The following members were present: Representatives Hochberg; Pena; Callegari and Congressman Brady.

 

The Senate Select Committee on Redistricting was called to order by the chair, Senator Seliger.  Senator Seliger addressed the audience. Senate committee members addressed the audience.

Representative Alonzo addressed the audience.

 

Representative Alvarado addressed the audience.

Senators made closing remarks.  At 2:26 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting  recessed.
