Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 9, 2009, the House Committee on Public Education met in a formal hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Eissler, at 11:31 a.m.

The chair laid out HB 2037 as pending business.

 

Representative Hochberg offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Hochberg moved that HB 2037, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Eissler; Hochberg; Aycock; Farias; Jackson, Jim; Olivo; Patrick; Shelton; Weber (9).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

The chair laid out HJR 77 as pending business.

 

Representative Jackson, Jim offered a complete committee substitute.
