Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and permission to meet while the house is in session on May 5, 2009, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Merritt, at 7:07 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Merritt; Frost; Burnam; Driver; King, Phil; Lewis; Mallory Caraway; Rodriguez; Vo (9).
Absent: None (0).
A quorum was present.
Representative Lewis moved to reconsider the vote by which the motion to report HB 2730, as substituted, failed. The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.
Representative Driver moved that HB 2730, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Merritt; Frost; Driver; King, Phil; Lewis; Vo (6).
Nays: Representatives Burnam; Mallory Caraway; Rodriguez (3).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (0).
At 7:12 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
