Pursuant to a suspension of the 24-hour posting rule and all necessary rules and an announcement from the house floor on July 1, 2009, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Solomons, at 11:13 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Solomons; Cook; Craddick; Gallego; Geren; Harless; Jones; Lucio III; Maldonado; Oliveira; Swinford (11).

 

Absent:              Representatives Menendez; Farabee; Hilderbran; Turner, Sylvester (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 2

 

The chair laid out HB 2.

 

The chair recognized Representative Isett to explain the measure.

The chair recognized Representative Isett to close on the measure.

 

Representative Swinford moved that HB 2, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Solomons; Menendez; Cook; Craddick; Gallego; Geren; Harless; Jones; Lucio III; Maldonado; Oliveira; Swinford (12).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Farabee; Hilderbran; Turner, Sylvester  (3).

 

At 11:25 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
