Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, February 2, 2009, in E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

At 2:17 p.m. Senator Whitmire assumed the chair. 

 

The chair laid out SJR 19 and recognized the author, Senator Williams, to explain the bill. 

Senator Williams moved that SJR 19 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. 

 

The chair laid out SB 621 and recognized the author, Senator Williams, to explain the bill. 

Senator Williams moved that SB 621 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. 

 

At 2:20 p.m. Senator Williams resumed the chair. 

 

There being no further business, at 2:20 p.m. Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
