Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, and pursuant to an announcement on the floor to suspend Senate Rule 11.13, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, May 25, 2009, in E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. The committee will stand at ease until the adjournment of the Senate Committee on Finance.
The chair called the meeting to order at 9:11 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Local & Uncontested Calendar
The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 27, 2009, at 9:00 a.m.
The following bills were removed from the list: HB 269, HB 319, HB 394, HB 397, HB 507, HB 773, HB 805, HB 1052, HB 1320, HB 1420, HB 1665, HB 2223, HB 2240, HB 2525, HB 2536, HB 3094, HB 3202, HB 3827, HB 4247, HB 4833 and HCR 152.
Susan Nold, representing Senator Watson, testified on HB 821. Stacy Pearson, representing Senator Watson, testified on HB 978. Jennifer Chambers, representing Senator Duncan, testified on HB 1259. Susan Nold, representing Senator Watson, testified on HB 821. Jamie Billman, representing Senator Carona, testified on HB 2438. Preston Streufert, representing Senator Carona, testified on HB 2972. Larance Coleman, representing Senator Whitmire, testified on HB 3594.
Senator Uresti moved that, with the exception of the bills previously listed, the bills on the recommended list be certified for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
There being no further business, at 10:26 a.m. Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
