Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Hinojosa, Vice Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out SB 1 as pending business.

 

Testimony was given on the following agencies.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

Senator Ogden assumed the chair.

 

Testimony continued.

 

Health and Human Services Commission

 

At 10:07 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after the adjournment of the Joint Session of the House and Senate; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hinojosa reconvened the Committee at 12:15 p.m.

Senator Ogden moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 6:48  p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 8:30 a.m., February 12, 2009.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
