Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Friday, February 13, 2009, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. The following business was transacted:
The chair laid out SB 1 as pending business.
Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.
Public testimony was taken on all Article II agencies. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

Senator Ogden requested unanimous consent that all witness cards, for individuals not testifying, be entered into the record. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
The chair moved that the public testimony on Article II be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Ogden moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Ogden announced the members of the Article II workgroup: Senator Deuell (leader), Senator Nelson, Senator Williams, and Senator Lucio.
There being no further business, at 10:59 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 10:00 a.m., February 16, 2009. Without objection, it was so ordered.
