Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The Committee heard invited testimony regarding the following interim charge: Study the impact of recent hurricanes for which a federal disaster declaration was issued on local economies.  Examine the basis for the distribution, including those involving Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and Texas Department Rural Affairs.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are shown on the attached list.

 

At 11:54 a.m. Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair. 

 

At 12:05 p.m. Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

 

The chair opened the floor for public testimony.  There being none, the public testimony was closed.

 

There being no further business, at 1:36 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
