Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Jurisprudence was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The clerk called roll.

 

The chair and members of the Committee introduced committee staff.

 

The chair laid out the proposed committee rules and Senator Gallegos moved that the rules be adopted.  The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. 

 

There being no further business, at 2:09 p.m. Senator Watson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Senator Carona seconded the motion.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
