The chair called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out SB 1342 by Senator Hinojosa. Senator Duncan sent up a committee amendment for SB 1342 and moved its adoption. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent. Senator Duncan moved that the amendment be rolled into a committee substitute and that the committee substitute be adopted. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
Senator Duncan moved that SB 1342 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do not pass, but that the committee substitute adopted in lieu thereof do pass and be printed. There being 5 ayes and 0 nays, the committee substitute for SB 1342 was reported favorably.
Senator Duncan moved that CSSB 1342 be recommended for the Local and Uncontested Calendar. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
The chair laid out CSSB 1561 by Senator Shapiro. Senator Averitt moved to reconsider the vote by which the committee substitute for SB 1561 was adopted. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent. Senator Averitt sent up a committee amendment for SB 1561 and moved its adoption. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent. Senator Averitt moved that the amendment be rolled into a committee substitute and that the committee substitute be adopted. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.

There being 4 ayes and 1 nay, the committee substitute for SB 1603 was reported favorably.
The chair laid out HB 962 by Representative Guillen and Senator Zaffirini. Senator Averitt moved that HB 962 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. There being 5 ayes and 0 nays, HB 962 was reported favorably.
Senator Duncan moved that HB 962 be recommended for the Local and Uncontested Calendar. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
The chair laid out HB 1568 by Representative Gonzales and Senator Zaffirini. Senator Averitt moved that HB 1568 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. There being 5 ayes and 0 nays, HB 1568 was reported favorably.

The chair laid out HB 2440 by Representative McCall and Senator Williams. Senator Duncan moved that HB 2440 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. There being 5 ayes and 0 nays, HB 2440 was reported favorably.
Senator Averitt moved that HB 2440 be recommended for the Local and Uncontested Calendar. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
There being no further business, at 4:19 p.m. Senator Averitt moved that the committee stand recessed, subject to the call of the chair. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
