Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Higher Education was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Senator Zaffirini's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 12:25 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out HB 999 by Representative Dutton and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator West, to explain the bill. The chair opened public testimony. Names of witnesses who testified and registered for, against, or on the bill are on the attached list. The chair closed public testimony.

 

Senator West moved that HB 999 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. There being 5 ayes and 0 nays, HB 999 was reported favorably. 

 

There being no further business, at 12:30 a.m. Senator Patrick moved that the committee stand adjourned. The motion was adopted by unanimous consent.
