Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in the Senate Chamber.

(On the floor, Senator Nelson moved to suspend Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18 to add SB 680 to the March 17, 2009 agenda of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services; without objection, it was so ordered.)

 

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:37 p.m.  The following was transacted: 

 

Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair. 

 

The chair laid out SB 67 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill. 

 

Senator Zaffirini sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Nelson to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. 

 

At 1:40 p.m. a quorum was established.

 

Senator Nelson sent up Committee Amendment 1 and moved adoption; without objection, the amendment was adopted. 

 

Senator Nelson requested unanimous consent to roll the amendment and committee substitute into a new committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.
