The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The Chair called upon representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, the Texas Adjutant's General Department, and the Texas Department of Transportation to deliver quarterly updates to the members. Witnesses are shown on the attached list.
The Chair took invited testimony on highway needs. The witness is shown on the attached list.
The Chair called upon a panel of witnesses to discuss border security. Witnesses are shown on the attached list.
The Chair opened public testimony. Having none, the Chair then moved that public testimony be closed; without objection it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 1:22 p.m. Senator Watson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
