Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with HCR 57, a public hearing of the Legislative Committee on Aging was held on Thursday, October 29, 2009, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:34 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Huffman moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Lucio requested that a letter by Representative Susan King be read and submitted into the record. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.   

 

At 3:00 p.m. Representative Naishtat assumed the chair. 

 

At 3:04 p.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. resumed the chair. 

 

Homer Lear requested that Concurrent Resolution 59 be submitted into the record. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 3:56 p.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
