Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with HCR 57, a public hearing of the Joint Legislative Committee on Aging was held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair recognized Betty Streckfuss to present a letter on behalf of Willis Cooke of Santa Fe, Texas.

 

Betty Streckfuss requested the letter be submitted as part of public record. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Representative Naishtat moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on June 24, 2010; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The chair opened the floor to hear invited testimony. 

 

Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list. 

 

The chair moved that invited testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair opened the floor to hear public testimony; there being none, the chair moved that public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 1:03 p.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
