Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with HCR 57, a public hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Finance Weights, Allotments & Adjustments was held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in San Antonio, TX.

Senator Shapiro called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Shapiro and Representative Eissler, as Co-Chairs, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.
Dr. Harrison Keller moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on April 22, 2010; without objection, it was so ordered.
The Chair recognized the following persons to make opening remarks: Senator Leticia Van de Putte, Edgewood ISD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth P. Garza, Representative Mike Villarreal, and North East ISD Superintendent Dr. Richard Middleton.
Senator Shapiro called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony. See attached list.
At 12:51 p.m. Representative Eissler assumed the chair.
At 1:19 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair.
At 2:40 p.m. Senator Duncan assumed the chair.
At 3:12 p.m. Senator Duncan called persons who registered as public witnesses to provide testimony. See attached list.
There being no further business, at 3:13 p.m. Senator Duncan moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Co-Chairs. Without objection, it was so ordered.
