Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with HCR 57, a public hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Finance Weights, Allotments & Adjustments was held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, in Austin, Texas.

Senator Shapiro called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Shapiro and Representative Eissler, as Co-Chairs, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.

 

 

 

Larry Kellner moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on September 16, 2010; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

Senator Shapiro made opening remarks to the Committee.

 

Senator Shapiro called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony.  See attached list.

 

At 11:10 a.m. Representative Eissler assumed the chair. 

 

At 11:26 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. 

 

At 11:52 a.m. Representative Eissler assumed the chair. 

 

At 12:49 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. 

 

At 1:12 p.m. Senator Shapiro called persons who registered as public witnesses to provide testimony.  See attached list.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

At 1:18 p.m. the Select Committee members exchanged statements and made closing remarks to the committee.

 

There being no further business, at 2:08 p.m. Senator Shapiro moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
