The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Education will meet
at 1:00 PM or upon adjournment of the S/C joint hearing with the House
Committee on Higher Education to hear testimony on Appropriations Charge

Monitor the performance of state agencies and institutions, including
operating budgets, plans to carry out legislative initiatives, caseload
projections, performance measure attainment, implementation of all rider
provisions, and any other matter affecting the fiscal condition of the
agencies and the state.
 
The Subcommittee will meet to discuss the 5% reduction plans for the Texas
Education Agency and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  The
Subcommittee will also hear testimony regarding the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality's deliberations regarding certain commercial
property tax exemptions.
