Amend CSSB 8 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  In SECTION 8 of the bill, in amended Section 21.251(a)(3), Education Code (page 6, line 22), between "pay" and the period, insert "for more than five days within a period of one year".

(2)  Add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumber subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____.  The change in law made by Section 21.251(a)(3), Education Code, as amended by this Act, applies only to a proposed suspension without pay regarding which the board of trustees notifies a teacher on or after the effective date of this Act.
