R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Xochitl Escobar graduated as the valedictorian of |
|
the senior class of Sunset High School in Dallas on May 28, 2011; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
Escobar demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being |
|
recognized as the highest achieving student in her class, Ms. |
|
Escobar gained the opportunity to address her fellow seniors at |
|
commencement and to reflect on their shared history as well as their |
|
hopes and ambitions for the future; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Xochitl Escobar has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at |
|
Sunset High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard |
|
work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless |
|
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Xochitl |
|
Escobar on being named valedictorian of the Sunset High School |
|
Class of 2011 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Escobar as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
