R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Best Southwest Partnership are |
|
|
celebrating the 25th anniversary of the incorporation of this |
|
|
noteworthy organization on June 16, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An association of chambers of commerce in |
|
|
southwestern Dallas and northern Ellis Counties, Best Southwest has |
|
|
at its core the four chambers of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, |
|
|
and Lancaster; the partnership also includes seven associate |
|
|
chambers representing the communities of Ferris, Glenn Heights, |
|
|
Hutchins, Midlothian, Ovilla, Red Oak, and Wilmer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of Best Southwest have participated in |
|
|
collaborative efforts for more than four decades; since its |
|
|
incorporation, the organization has worked ever more diligently to |
|
|
promote economic development through image enhancement and |
|
|
advocacy in behalf of education, transportation, and beneficial |
|
|
legislation; the partnership maintains a nonpartisan approach to |
|
|
addressing issues of mutual interest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Best Southwest Partnership has made innumerable |
|
|
contributions to the quality of life in southwestern Dallas and |
|
|
northern Ellis Counties, and the organization merits special praise |
|
|
for its outstanding initiatives to promote a healthy business |
|
|
climate in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize the Best |
|
|
Southwest Partnership on the occasion of its 25th anniversary |
|
|
celebration and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for a memorable event; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the partnership as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
