R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, R. E. "Bob" Parker has been inducted into the Corpus |
|
|
Christi Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of South Texas; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A worldwide, nonprofit organization, Junior |
|
|
Achievement is committed to educating young people about free |
|
|
enterprise and entrepreneurship and fostering financial literacy; |
|
|
the organization's Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame recognizes |
|
|
local individuals who have achieved excellence in their field and |
|
|
who have demonstrated vision and innovation, inspiring leadership, |
|
|
and community mindedness; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bob Parker is the founder and president of Repcon, |
|
|
Inc.; established in 1983, the company provides maintenance and |
|
|
construction services to the refining, chemical, and petrochemical |
|
|
industries and specializes in the planning and administering of |
|
|
plant revamps and shutdowns; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Parker developed his entrepreneurial spirit and |
|
|
strong work ethic at an early age; while he was still in elementary |
|
|
school he started his own lawn mowing business, and he later worked |
|
|
at his uncle's gas station; he is a graduate of Texas A&I |
|
|
University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in general |
|
|
engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bob Parker has greatly contributed to the economic |
|
|
vitality of his community and this state, and he is indeed worthy of |
|
|
this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob Parker on |
|
|
his induction into the Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Parker as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
