R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lauro Solis is being installed as the governor of |
|
|
Rotary International District 5930 on June 24, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In his new role, Mr. Solis will lead about 2,500 |
|
|
Rotarians in the 56 clubs in South Texas as they uphold the Rotary |
|
|
International motto "Service Above Self"; promoting goodwill and |
|
|
peace, the group is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid |
|
|
throughout the world; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Solis is especially committed to supporting the |
|
|
Rotary Foundation, which aims to improve health and alleviate |
|
|
poverty; to that end, he will oversee a project to benefit food banks |
|
|
in the Rio Grande Valley; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By selecting Mr. Solis as governor, Rotary |
|
|
International District 5930 has underscored his value to the |
|
|
organization and community, and we join his many friends and |
|
|
admirers in saluting him for his contributions to the greater good; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Lauro Solis on his |
|
|
installation as governor of Rotary International District 5930 and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for Mr. Solis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives. |
