R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Billie Ann and Kenneth Baker of |
|
|
Midland celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 12, 2011; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Kenneth Baker and the former Billie Ann Hill were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Denton in 1946; through the years, they have |
|
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of their children, Carol and Jerry Adams and Loretta |
|
|
and Bill Baker, as well as five grandchildren and nine |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Valued residents of their community for more than |
|
|
six decades, Mr. Baker is retired from Area Custom Home Builders and |
|
|
Mrs. Baker is retired from IBM; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |
|
|
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Billie Ann and |
|
|
Kenneth Baker on their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Baker as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
